Molasses Walnut Brownies

Ingredient

  1. 2/3 cup butter
  2. 2/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  3. 2/3 cup Grandma's Molasses
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  5. 2 eggs
  6. 1 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  7. 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instruction

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Grease and flour two 8-inch square pans.
  3. In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in molasses and vanilla. Beat in eggs.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking soda; blend thoroughly.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the first mixture, blending well.
  6. Fold in chopped nuts.
  7. Spread batter in the prepared pans. 
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
