Braised Tofu with Chinese Mushroom

Ingredient

  1. 1 box of regular firm tofu
  2. 3-5 dried shiitake mushroom , re-hydrated
  3. 2 garlic cloves , sliced
  4. 1/2 thumb ginger , sliced
  5. 2 scallions , cut into 1 inch pieces
  6. 1/4 cup of oil
  7. Seasonings

  8. 1 tbsp. light soy sauce
  9. 1 tsp. dark soy sauce
  10. 1 tsp. rock sugar
  11. 1/2 tbsp. sesame oil
  12. 1 tsp. black vinegar
  13. 1 tbsp. oyster sauce

Instruction

  1. Firstly cut tofu into triangle or square (around 1.5cm thick) and then fry until both sides become golden brown. And then transfer out.
  2. Heat oil and fry garlic, scallion and ginger pieces over slow fire until aroma.
  3. And then fry mushroom slices for 2-3 minutes, return fried tofu, add all the seasonings and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Add fresh sweet basil leaves in the last minute.
